New Speed Limit Pilot Project Launched in Alliston Neighbourhoods

Residents of Alliston can now experience safer streets with the launch of a new pilot project aimed at reducing speed limits in residential areas. The initiative, which sets a maximum speed limit of 40km/h, is now live across several neighbourhoods.

The project will assess the effectiveness of these reduced speed limits in enhancing road safety.

Signs indicating the 40km/h limit have been installed at key neighbourhood boundaries, including:

  • Young Street

  • King Street South

  • Industrial Parkway

Tottenham Conservation Area Opens for 2025 Season with New Changes

The Tottenham Conservation Area is set to open at a reduced capacity again this season, adhering to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) report. Here are the continued key changes to regular park operations for the 2026 season:

Hours of Operation
The park will open on May 15 and close for the season on September 27. Visitors can enjoy the park daily from 8 AM to 8 PM.

Day Use Visitors

While we are disappointed by the delay in the project, we remain optimistic that the transition to electric vehicles will reinvigorate this important initiative in the near future.
