Recycling Collection in Simcoe County Has Changed
Residential recycling in Simcoe County is now managed by Circular Materials, a not-for-profit organization appointed by producers under Ontario’s new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework. This province-wide shift moves responsibility for blue box recycling from municipalities to producers of recyclable products.

Winter Clean-Up Operations – Downtown Alliston

Our crews will begin snow removal in Alliston’s downtown area on Thursday, January 8 at approximately 10:30 PM. Crews will be working through the night and into the early morning hours of Friday, January 9, to ensure roads and public spaces remain safe and accessible.
Residents are asked to avoid parking on streets and in designated areas during this time to allow crews to work efficiently.
Please exercise caution if you are traveling overnight and give equipment operators plenty of space.

Power Outage in Alliston Area

A power outage is currently affecting approximately 1,300 customers in the Alliston area due to a hydro pole fire on Church Street, south of Tupper Street .
Please note that traffic signals are out at intersections along Industrial Parkway and Church Street.
Please exercise caution when approaching these areas.
Alectra Utilities estimates power restoration between 3 - 5 PM.
