On May 1, 2025, the Province expanded Strong Mayor powers on 170 additional municipalities, including New Tecumseth. 

I am optimistic that our Council and staff will continue to be a cohesive team that collaborates to serve our community. 

I remain steadfast in my commitment to lead with cooperation and efficient decision-making at the Council table, notwithstanding the new "strong mayor" powers conferred upon me.

Potential Canada Post Strike Could Impact Bill Payments for New Tecumseth Residents

With a potential Canada Post strike looming after May 22, residents and businesses in New Tecumseth may face delays in receiving paper bills, including water utility bills, property tax bills, and invoices. Despite the postal service disruption, bills will continue to be issued, and payment due dates will remain unchanged. To ensure timely payments, residents are encouraged to sign up for paperless billing or use alternative methods of payment.
