Annual Traffic Calming Project Installations – Spring 2026

The Town has approved several traffic calming projects for installation for May 2026.

Approved Projects

  • 4th Line and Patterson Street traffic calming measures have been approved for annual installation.
  • Church Street North has been approved as a one‑year pilot project.
  • Pridham Place has been approved for a three‑year installation period (2026–2028).

Reframe – A Mobile Unlearning Exhibit

The Town is hosting Reframe – A Mobile Unlearning Exhibit, a travelling educational exhibit designed to encourage reflection and learning around Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).

Through posters and guided prompts, the exhibit invites staff and community members to think critically about social justice and how we can support a more welcoming and accessible municipality.

Queen Street Resurfacing – 2025 Road Improvement Program

The Town of New Tecumseth advises residents and property owners that Lisbon Paving Co. Ltd. will be resuming road improvement work on Queen Street, between Nolan Road and 177 Queen Street South (Tottenham Water Tower).

The project includes the following activities:

  • Removal of the existing asphalt surface
  • Repaving of the roadway
  • Installation of new pavement markings, including parking spaces

Construction is anticipated to begin as early as Spring 2026, with completion expected by May 30, 2026.

Public Notice: Environmental Site Assessment on Town-Owned Properties

The Town has retained Soils Engineers Ltd. to undertake a Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) on various Town-owned properties bordered within Mill St. W., Queen St. N., George St., and Walkem Dr. in the community of Tottenham. 

Field work will include:

  • Drilling soil boreholes
  • Installing groundwater monitoring wells
  • Collecting soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis
