County and Town Official Plan Updates
On April 7, 2026, the Province approved Simcoe County Official Plan Amendment No. 7, with changes. This County plan sets population, employment, and land needs forecasts to the year 2051. The Town used these forecasts to prepare Town Official Plan Amendment No. 5 (OPA 5).
The Town’s Growth Management Study and OPA 5 were deferred in June 2025 at the request of the Province. The Province has now asked the Town to complete the remaining steps needed to approve OPA 5...

🚧 UPDATE Road Closure -Highway 89, Alliston 🚧
Update as of 10:05 AM - Highway 89 has been fully re-opened.
Thank you for your patience.
Please be advised that Highway 89 is temporarily closed in both directions at the west end of Town, near the Tim Hortons, due to a structure fire.
Emergency services are on scene, and the closure will remain in effect until further notice to ensure public safety.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, plan ahead, and use alternate routes.
