Beeton Facility Replacement Project

The Town of New Tecumseth has retained the services of James Fryett Architects Inc. and LeisurePlan International Inc. to undertake a feasibility study, concept plan update and business plan associated with the replacement of the Beeton Memorial Arena.

This project is directed to providing advice and guidance to the Municipality concerning the potential replacement of the Beeton Memorial Arena and we want to ensure that all community groups and organizations and community residents have meaningful opportunities to participate in the research process and stay informed of the progress of the research.

PROJECT UPDATE

For the most recent updates on this project, please see the attached documents below.

  • On Monday, April 30th, 2018 at 7:00pm a Public Information Open House was held in the Beeton Memorial Arena Community Hall. There was a strong turn-out from members of the community, FAB representatives, the Beeton Facility Planning Task Force, and members of Town Council.  The open house provided an opportunity for all to learn about the process for updating the feasibility study, concept plans, and business plan for a replacement for the Beeton Memorial Arena. Consultants from James Fryett Architect Inc. and LeisurePlan International Inc. along with members from Town Staff were present to describe the process and answer questions. The consultants gathered written community comments, suggestions, and concerns. The open house was the first of a number of opportunities for community residents to participate in the process.
  • Community Survey:  Residents were encouraged to complete an online survey (closed as of July 27, 2018.) However, if you would still like to provide comments, please send via email to  beetonfacility@newtecumseth.ca
  • At the Council Meeting on Monday, March 4, 2019, based upon the presented High Level Business Case Report prepared by James Fryett Architect Inc., Council directed staff to continue to investigate and cost Option A, a new facility with an Ice Pad and Community Centre located in Beeton, as the preferred option for the replacement of the Beeton Memorial Arena and Community Centre, including consideration within the Long Range Financial Plan.
  • On Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 7:00 pm a second Public Information Open House was held in the Beeton Memorial Arena Community Hall. Initial Concept Plans for the Beeton Arena and Multi-Purpose Community Centre were presented at the Public Information Open House and can be viewed below:
