Outdoor ice rinks-UPDATED

Posted On Wednesday January 13, 2021

Weather permitting, the outdoor rink at the Tottenham Community & Fitness Centre, 139 Queen St. N., Tottenham will be open for leisure skate ONLY, no game play of any kind (ie. hockey or shinny), daily from 7am to 10pm.

As a result of the Provincial Emergency Declaration, effective Jan. 14, a maximum of 5 participants will be permitted on the ice at any given time and face masks/coverings must be worn at all times. Each skater will now be permitted a time limit of 30 minutes.

Participants will be granted access on a first come, first serve basis, with rotations starting every HALF hour (30 minutes).

All COVID-19 protocols must be adhered to. In addition to wearing a face mask,  physical distancing of 2 metres must be maintained at all times and a minimum of 3 metres when engaged in skating, wash/sanitize hands often and stay home when ill.  Please note, while outdoor rinks will be monitored to ensure permitted participant numbers are not exceeded, rinks are unsupervised and equipment/rink boards are not sanitized. Dressing rooms are closed and access to the Tottenham Community & Fitness Centre is only available for skaters to use the washroom. CSA approved helmets are mandatory and sticks and pucks are not permitted at any time.

The weather has not been conducive and now with the new provincial public health directives, efforts to get the outdoor ice rinks created on the ground surfaces of ball diamonds in Alliston and Beeton will be paused at this time to further prevent potential gatherings and to support the Province’s order to keep people at home.
