Environmental Site Assessment at 90 Prospect Street and 285 Centre Street Beeton

Posted On Thursday October 14, 2021

The Town will be conducting an Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) at 90 Prospect Street and 285 Centre Street North in Beeton. The purpose is to determine if one or more “contaminants of potential concern” are present. Residents may notice WSP Canada Inc. and/or Town staff drilling soil boreholes, installing, and sampling groundwater-monitoring wells, conducting inspections, taking measurements and photographs, and/or using survey equipment within and surrounding the 90 Prospect Street land. This scope of field work is expected to start the week of October 18, 2021, and potentially lasting up to 6-10 days, pending weather and site conditions. Residents may also notice the presence on the property of one or more 205-litre steel drums following completion of field work; these drums contain excess soil and groundwater generated during the soil drilling and groundwater sampling work.  The drums will be sealed and labelled to identify their contents and will be removed from the property after laboratory analysis results for the soil and groundwater have been received.
