Information Requests

Certain records held by the Town of New Tecumseth are available through Routine Disclosure, meaning you can request them without submitting a formal Freedom of Information (FOI) application. This provides a faster and more convenient way to access commonly requested documents.

Before submitting a request, please review the list below to confirm whether the record you are seeking is available through Routine Disclosure, along with who may access it and expected timelines. Fees may apply in accordance with the Town’s Fees and Charges By-law. 

Availability of records may be subject to applicable legislation, privacy considerations, and whether the requested record exists. In some cases, proof of ownership or authorization may be required.

Building Department

Building Drawings and Building Plans May include property site plans, building size, setbacks, driveway dimensions, floor plans, roof framing, elevations, and HVAC plans 5–7 business days Property owner or authorized representative 
Occupancy Certificates Occupancy certificates ensure conformance with the Ontario Building Code for safety. An inspection is conducted prior to occupancy of the space. 5–7 business days Property owner or authorized representative 
Inspection Reports Inspection reports are prepared by a Building Inspector in response to a request for inspection by a builder. 5–7 business days Property owner or authorized representative 
Survey A land survey identifies boundaries and features of land. A land survey may also include horizontal direction, angles, and elevations. 5–7 business days Anyone who makes a request
