Municipal incentives

Accessibility - Portable Ramp Grant Program

Do you operate a business in New Tecumseth? Is it accessible for wheelchairs, scooters, strollers and walkers? The Town of New Tecumseth and its Accessibility Advisory Committee are dedicated to helping business owners increase accessibility, and are offering a grant program to assist in the purchase of a portable ramp. Community Improvement Plan

If you own a business or property in one of New Tecumseth's three downtown areas, you may be eligible for grants through our Community Improvement Plan program.

Development charge exemptions

Looking to develop property in one of our downtown commercial cores? Planning to expand an existing industrial facility? Adding space to your small or medium sized business' building? Your project may be eligible for one of the following exemptions on municipal development charges:

  • Redevelopment of Land Exemption

Nottawasaga Futures Loans

Nottawasaga Futures offers loans up to $150,000 to support the creation of new jobs, or maintain existing jobs, in the community. You can apply if you have a business located in the municipalities of Adjala-Tosorontio, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Essa, Innisfil and New Tecumseth.

Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit

The Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit offers a tax credit of up to $10,000 per year if you hire and train apprentices in skilled trades.

Canada-Ontario Job Grant

The Canada-Ontario Job Grant helps employers pay for up to $10,000 (per employee) in training costs for current and future employees.

Digital Main Street

Digital Main Street is a grant program designed to help main street businesses adopt new digital technologies and build an online presence.

Ontario Centres of Excellence

Contact the Ontario Centres of Excellence for help with industrial research and development, commercialization of technology, and access to knowledge from industry and academic communities in Ontario.

Ontario Emerging Technologies Fund

If you're an Ontario-based firm in the emerging technology sector, the Ontario Emerging Technologies Fund can help you. You may be able to apply for up to $25 million for your business.

Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE)

Ontario Market Access Initiative

The Market Access Initiative is a targeted cost-share intake available to help businesses and organizations across the Ontario supply value-chain that are directly involved in or support the production, processing and/or sales of agri-food or agri-products for domestic or export markets and have been directly impacted by trade restrictions

Ontario Regional Development Program

The Regional Development Program supports eligible small- and medium-sized businesses investing in new equipment and training to expand operations in these regions, and also provides support to municipalities and economic development organizations investing in economic development projects. Eligible applicants may receive financial support and advisory services to help navigate other government programs, such as guidance on compliance approvals, assistance with skills and talent.

 Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness Stream

The Regional Development Program: Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness Stream provides financial support to advanced manufacturing companies across Ontario by way of investments in capital equipment, technology adoption and skills development that will accelerate recovery in Ontario and place our companies in competitive global positions.

Southwestern Ontario Development Fund 

The Southwestern Ontario Development Fund provides financial support to businesses, municipalities and economic development organizations for economic development in southwestern Ontario.

Ontario Research and Innovation Funding

Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit

Southern Ontario Fund for Investment in Innovation

The Southern Ontario Fund for Investment in Innovation supports growth or expansion of innovative companies based in Southern Ontario. They offer loans of $150,000 to $500,000 to create jobs in our communities.
