Prospect Street and Tecumseth Street, Beeton

Project Overview

The  Town of New Tecumseth has retained R.J. Burnside & Associates  (RJB) to complete the engineering design for planned roadway improvements on Prospect Street (from Dayfoot Street to Tecumseth Street) and Tecumseth Street (from Prospect Street to the south limit).

This project will include full road reconstruction and urbanization, addressing roadway condition, drainage, sidewalk and active transportation needs, and municipal servicing infrastructure.

Project Timeline

Design activities are currently underway and are anticipated to be completed in Q1 2027. Construction is tentatively planned in Q2 2027, pending any utility relocations and the completion of the Dayfoot St Phase 2a works.

To support the design process, field investigations—including topographic surveys, geotechnical testing, and other small-scale site assessments—will begin on-site in March 2026. These activities may involve temporary lane closures or localized disruptions; however, efforts will be made to minimize inconvenience to residents.

Public Engagement

Once a preliminary design and project scope are developed, Town staff will provide the proposed design to the Public to collect community feedback, and address questions from residents and stakeholders. Details regarding the meeting will be shared on this page once available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will access to my property be needed?

Access is not anticipated at this time. If access is needed, a permission to enter (PTE) will be requested prior to any access.

What are the paint marks on the road and sidewalk?

Paint marking and flags in various colours identify the location of buried utilities that will assist with the design and ultimately the construction work.

Why are they doing drilling into the road?

Borehole investigation is a drilling process that provides a sample below the surface to determine the type, thickness, and suitability of the existing asphalt, road base, subbase, and soil materials including determining groundwater conditions.

When is construction planned?

Construction is tentatively planned for summer 2027, pending completion of Dayfoot Street Phase 2a and budget approval.
