Library

All branches of New Tecumseth Public Library are open to the public (at Stage 3 of reopening). Services available to the community include:

  • Library shelving is now accessible for browsing.
  • Public washrooms can now be accessed.
  • Express public computer access and photocopier/scanner services available on a first-come, first-served basis. Computer stations will be sanitized between each session.
  • Library patrons can continue to request library materials by phone, email, or online at www.ntpl.ca. Library staff will contact patrons once items are ready for pickup.
  • Our outdoor drop boxes are available for returning materials 24/7.
  • Curbside pickup will continue to be offered on request, for those who prefer not to enter the branch.
  • As a way of thanking our patrons for their patience and to welcome them back, the library is going fine-free for the rest of 2020. Children’s materials will always be fine-free going forward.
  • Online Ebooks, audiobooks, and databases are available 24/7 through the library website.
  • A new streaming service, Kanopy, has thousands of free movies and documentaries that can be streamed on any device.
  • Virtual membership is available for those without a card who want to access our online resources (without entering a branch).
  • Update your account PIN or renew your expired membership by calling one of the branches or emailing gpeters@ntpl.ca.
  • Library programs continue to be offered: contact Kathy (kbernath@ntpl.ca) for children’s programming and Kim (kimburgess@ntpl.ca ) for adult programming details.
  • Tech Assist help is available by contacting Julie (jfox@ntpl.ca).
  • The first ½ hour of each opening day (10:00am – 10:30am) is reserved for vulnerable and immune-compromised individuals, such as seniors.
  • As we evaluate developing circumstances, we may expand our opening hours and service levels. We are also prepared to walk back to a previous stage if that becomes necessary.
