Parking Tickets
We issue parking tickets for infractions to the Town's Parking and Traffic By-law. If you receive a parking ticket, there are a variety of ways to pay it.
Payment timelines
You can voluntarily pay your parking ticket within 10 days of the infraction. If you do not pay the ticket within 10 days, you can then pay the set fine at a potentially increased rate within 15 days of the infraction. If you file a notice of intention to appear in court, you can pay after the conviction, but before a licence plate denial.
Methods of payment
You can pay your parking ticket:
- Pay a Parking Ticket Online
- By calling 705-435-3900 or 905-729-0057 and using an accepted credit card
- In-person by signing the Voluntary Payment Option and paying using cash, cheque, debit or an accepted credit card at the Town Administration Centre.
- By mailing your ticket, the signed Voluntary Payment Option and a cheque to the Town Administration Centre. Do not send cash through the mail. Write the Parking Infraction Notice Number on the front of your cheque and make it payable to the Town of New Tecumseth.
You can also file a request to appeal your ticket.
Trial option
When choosing the trial option, you or your agent must attend to the Town Administration Centre in-person, during regular hours of operation to file a notice of intention to appear in court.
You must bring your ticket with you. You cannot set a date by mail. We encourage you to call the office and book an appointment in advance at 705-435-3900.
