Property Value

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) assesses property owners' property values in compliance with the Assessment Act and regulations set by the Government of Ontario.

In 2017 MPAC updated the assessed values of every property in Ontario. We use these values to calculate your property taxes for the 2021-2023 tax years.

Request a reconsideration

If you believe your property assessment is incorrect in comparison to similar properties in your area, you have the option to submit a Request for Reconsideration (RFR) through MPAC. MPAC will review your assessment free of charge. The deadline to submit a Request for Reconsideration is March 31st of that tax year.

Property owners are encouraged to visit AboutMyProperty.ca to view a profile of their property and learn more about how their property was assessed. Also available are video tutorials to explain How MPAC Assesses Property and the Reconsideration Process.

For further information and detail about the recent re-assessment, property assessment valuation and appeal options, please visit MPAC's main website at mpac.ca

Tax Appeal Application

If you are looking to appeal your property taxes due to a physical change resulting from fire, flood, demolished structure, or other change of use (ie. closing a home-based business), please complete an Application for Appeal under Section 357 and submit it to the Town of New Tecumseth Tax Department.
