Demolition in Downtown Tottenham to Make Way for Expanded Parking
A familiar corner of downtown Tottenham will look a little different by mid-August. The property at 4 Mill Street is scheduled for demolition from August 11 through August 15, as part of a project to expand public parking in the area.
The work will begin with the removal of a former show home on the site. Later this fall, a second phase will take down the car wash and a nearby driveshed barn. Once both phases are complete, the entire area will be cleared and opened up for additional parking.
During the demolition, the site will be fenced off and nearby sidewalks will be temporarily closed to ensure public safety. While no road closures are expected, residents and visitors should expect some noise and dust in the area. Those traveling through the Mill Street and Queen Street intersection are asked to use extra caution, as crews and equipment will be active nearby.
Once the site is cleaned up and safe to access, the new parking area will be opened to the public.
The Town thanks the community for its patience and cooperation during this improvement project and encourages everyone to follow posted signage around the site.
