News Release Date: June 17, 2025
NEW TECUMSETH, ONTARIO – The Town of New Tecumseth is proud to announce the groundbreaking of Fire Station #4, marking the start of construction on a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed to strengthen emergency response and fire safety in the community.
Located at 6365 14th Line, Fire Station #4 will be the Town’s fourth municipal fire station — and the second in Alliston — expanding coverage and improving response times for residents. The facility is scheduled for completion by late 2026 or early 2027.
“This important project reflects the Town’s commitment to public safety, ensuring top-tier fire rescue services for all residents,” said Mayor Richard Norcross.
Before selecting the site, the Town conducted a thorough site suitability review, assessing servicing needs, traffic impact, and financial feasibility. The chosen location, adjacent to the existing sports field and Public Works yard, was identified as the best fit to support efficient fire operations.
Fire Station #4 will enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities for high-growth areas. It will be a12,600 sq. ft. one-storey facility with three drive-through apparatus bays, firefighter dormitories, training and meeting rooms, administrative offices, a kitchen and dining area, equipment maintenance and decontamination spaces.
“The new facility will support faster response times, strengthen emergency preparedness, and reinforce our commitment to protecting lives and property — now and in the future,” he said.
The station’s forward-thinking design ensures long-term sustainability and adaptability as New Tecumseth continues to grow.
Updates on the project will be shared at www.newtecumseth.ca/firestation4.
