Potential Canada Post Strike Could Impact Bill Payments for New Tecumseth Residents
With a potential Canada Post strike looming after May 22, residents and businesses in New Tecumseth may face delays in receiving paper bills, including water utility bills, property tax bills, and invoices. Despite the postal service disruption, bills will continue to be issued, and payment due dates will remain unchanged. To ensure timely payments, residents are encouraged to sign up for paperless billing or use alternative methods of payment.
Alternative Payment Methods include:
- Financial institution (online or in-person)
- Online by credit card using the third-party provider, Plastiq (maximum $750.00)
- Pre-Authorized Payments for the balance to be withdrawn on the due dates
- In-person at the New Tecumseth Town Hall, 24 Tupper St. W., Alliston
- Payments dropped off at one of our local drop boxes:
- New Tecumseth Town Hall – 24 Tupper St W., Alliston, Front Entrance
- Joint Operations Centre - 6558 8th Line, CR1, Beeton, South Side Entrance
- Tottenham Recreation Centre - 139 Queen St. N., Tottenham, South Side Entrance
Residents are advised not to mail their payments if a strike is expected or occurring. Payment obligations and due dates will remain the same during the postal strike.
