Road Resurfacing on Thomas St. Starting in June

The Town of New Tecumseth is moving forward with improvements to local infrastructure, announcing that Lisbon Paving Co. Ltd. has been awarded the contract for resurfacing Thomas Street, between Dayfoot Street and Centre Street North.

The upcoming construction project, scheduled to begin as early as June 16, 2025, will include several key upgrades:

• Repairing curbs and catch basins at various locations
• Removing the existing asphalt surface
• Repaving the road
• Repainting road markings

Throughout the construction period, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions. One lane of traffic and safe pedestrian access will be maintained during working hours, with two lanes open during non-working hours. Residents will be notified in advance of any temporary driveway closures, and alternative parking arrangements will be coordinated as needed.

While some delays and inconveniences may occur, the Town kindly asks for the community’s patience and cooperation. Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to follow all posted construction signage to ensure everyone’s safety, including that of the workers on-site.
