Summer is just around the corner — and so are our most popular programs of the year! Whether your child loves summer camp adventures, creative activities, or making a splash in the pool, we’ve got an exciting lineup ready for them.

Summer program registration is OPEN!

Spring programs run April - June. Summer Programs run July -August.

Parent and Tot 4 months to 36 months
 
Parent and Tot 1

Designed for the 4 to 12-month-old to learn to enjoy the water with the parent/caregiver. Parent/caregiver is required to be in the water with the child.

Designed for the 12 to 24-month-old to learn to enjoy the water with the parent/caregiver. Parent/caregiver is required to be in the water with the child.

Designed for the 2 to 3-year-old to learn to enjoy the water with the parent/caregiver. Parent/caregiver is required to be in the water with the child.

Preschool 3 to 5 years 
 
Preschool 1

These preschoolers will have fun learning to get in and out of the water. We’ll help them jump into chest deep water. They’ll float and glide on their front and back and learn to get their faces wet and blow bubbles underwater.

Preschool 2

These preschoolers learn to jump into chest- deep water by themselves and get in and get out wearing a life jacket. They’ll submerge and exhale underwater. Wearing a life jacket, they’ll glide on their front and back.

Preschool 3

These preschoolers will try both jumping and a sideways entry into deep water while wearing a life jacket. They’ll recover objects from the bottom in waist-deep water. They’ll work on kicking and gliding through the water on their front and back.

Preschool 4

Advanced preschoolers will learn to do solo jumps into deeper water and get out by themselves. They’ll do sideways entries and open their eyes underwater. They’ll master a short swim on their front wearing a life jacket and gliding and kicking on their side.

Preschool 5

These preschoolers get more adventuresome with a forward roll entry wearing a life jacket and treading water for 10sec. They’ll work on front and back crawl swims for 5 m, interval training and get a giggle out of whip kick.

School Aged 6 to 12 years 
 
Swimmer 1

These beginners will become comfortable jumping into water with and without a life jacket. They’ll learn to open their eyes, exhale and hold their breath underwater. They’ll work on floats, glides and kicking through the water on their front and back.

Swimmer 2 

These advanced beginners will jump into deeper water and learn to be comfortable falling sideways into the water wearing a life jacket. They’ll be able to support themselves at the surface without an aid, learn whip kick, swim 10m on their front and back, and be introduced to flutter kick interval training (4 x5m).

Adult 1 18+ years 

You'll work towards a 10-15 m swim on your front and back. You'll do jump entries from the side and recover an object from the bottom in chest-deep water. Improve your fitness and your flutter kick with 4 x 9-12 m interval training.

Designed as a specialty class, this program builds upon the foundations taught in the Life Saving Society swimming program. Participants will refine their techniques, focusing on perfecting form and enhancing fluidity in the water. By emphasizing efficiency and precision, this class prepares swimmers to excel in their next standard level and beyond. Take your skills to the next level and unlock your aquatic potential!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Next Step Essential Skills is a specialized swimming program that operates independently from the Life Saving Society Swimming Program. As such, participants will not receive a Life Saving Society badge or report card upon completion. This program is designed to teach select skills covered in Life Saving Society levels Swimmer 3 and 4. However, due to the Alliston Rotary Pool's lack of a deep end, any deep-end-specific skills are excluded from the curriculum.

Through activities that boost endurance and speed, as well as refine essential skills, swimmers will prepare themselves for higher-level courses offered by the Life Saving Society.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Next Step Advanced Skills is a specialized swimming program that operates independently from the Life Saving Society Swimming Program. As such, participants will not receive a Life Saving Society badge or report card upon completion. This program is designed to teach select skills covered in Life Saving Society levels Swimmer 5 and 6.  Private Lessons - 1 participant (Ages 3+)

Gain confidence in the water and improve your skills with individualized swimming lessons. Our certified swim instructors will provide personalized one-on-one guidance and support, tailored specifically to the participant's needs.

 Semi-private Lessons - 2 participants (Ages 3+)

Gain confidence in the water and improve your skills with semi-private swimming lessons. Our certified swimming instructors will provide personalized guidance and support for two participants, tailored to each of the participant's needs. Participants must be of the same or similar age and skill level.

Summer Day Camps

The Town of New Tecumseth provides day camp for children aged 4-17 years. Our vision within Recreation programs is to be a leader and valued partner in building a healthy community.  All day camps are designed to build campers imagination, curiosity, creativity, self-esteem, and confidence.

Camp Tater Tot 4yrs

Inspired by New Tecumseth’s potato farming heritage, Camp Tater Tot promises exciting weekly themes, creative indoor games, and outdoor adventures. With smaller camper-to-staff ratios, personalized care is guaranteed. Plus, enjoy refreshing water play and weekly swims. Big fun starts small at Camp Tater Tot - join us this summer!

Camp Kaleidoscope 5-11yrs 

Join us for a classic summer camp experience! Get ready for a week filled with fun activities, engaging games, creative crafts, and plenty of smiles. At Camp Kaleidoscope, we create a safe and enjoyable environment where you can make lasting memories and new friendships. Each week brings a fresh opportunity with changing themes, offering new experiences just like a kaleidoscope of colors.

Aqua Adventures Camp 5-9yrs 

Prepare for a summer full of splashes and smiles with our Aqua Adventures camp! Whether your child is a budding swimmer or just loves the water, this camp offers the perfect blend of aquatic fun and skill development. Campers will progress through the Lifesaving Society – Swim for Life program, enhancing their swimming abilities and water safety knowledge through daily lessons.

Please note: Due to the depth limitations of the Alliston Rotary Pool, we only offer Lifesaving Society lessons up to Swimmer Level 3. Campers who surpass this level will transition into our Next Step: Essential Skills or Next Step: Advanced Skills programs. These specialized swimming programs operate independently from the Lifesaving Society curriculum and do not include badges or report cards. These programs are designed to teach select skills from Swimmer Levels 3–6, excluding any deep-end-specific skills that cannot be accommodated at this facility.

Super Sportacular Camp 5-11yrs

C2C - Connecting 2 Community 9-13yrs

Make a difference this summer at C2C Camp! Perfect for campers who still love classic camp fun but are ready to take on more responsibility and start their leadership journey. This camp focuses on community connection through hands-on projects, teamwork, and creative activities. Campers will build leadership skills, explore local initiatives, and enjoy a mix of games, crafts, and fun—all while making a positive impact.

L.I.T - Leader in Training 13-14yrs

Perfect for campers who want to keep the fun going while starting their leadership journey. This program includes a week of hands-on training in communication, program planning, and child engagement, followed by a volunteer placement at camp.

C.I.T - Counsellor in Training 15-17yrs

Arts, Culture & Heritage Programs

These creative programs offer a hands-on journey into the world of artistic expression and cultural exploration. Participants can dive into a variety of artsy activities, cultural traditions, and artistic heritage. These programs are designed to inspire creativity, develop artistic skills, and celebrate diverse cultural practices all while providing a rich and engaging experience.

Heritage Highlights, including Intro to Wildlife with Jason George and History of the Simcoe County Forest with Graeme Davis

Dig into the past with our museum lecture series, where history comes alive through engaging 45-60 minute presentations by esteemed guest speakers and knowledgeable museum staff. Join us as we explore a range of historical and culturally significant topics that offer insight into the heritage that shaped our community. 

Museum Makerspace Workshops

Creatively explore our rich local historic tapestry with engaging hands-on workshops designed for ages 16 and up. Our approachable 1-2 hour workshops, hosted by talented third-party instructors or enthusiastic museum staff invite you to play, create, learn, and connect.

Back in Time PA Days

Step back in time with special PA day activities at the Museum on the Boyne. Come explore the past in a fun and interactive way with old-timey crafts and games, historical demonstrations, and challenging scavenger hunts.

Recommended for ages 5+. Children visiting the museum must be accompanied by an adult. 
Admission by donation. 

Join us for leather craft, candle making, artifact sleuth and historic table games, and more! 

 Museum Spuds and Sprouts

Introducing Museum Spuds and Sprouts – our way of welcoming our youngest visitors to explore, play, and learn at the museum. Great for ages 2-4, we are pleased to offer themed hands-on crafts and sensory activities to introduce you and your little ones to the museum.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Workshops & Training Programs

Our Workshops and Trainings offer skill-building opportunities through a variety of hands-on sessions and instructional courses. Participants can dive into specialized topics, from creative arts and practical skills to professional development and personal growth. These programs are designed to provide expert guidance, foster learning, and enhance competencies in a supportive environment, making them ideal for anyone looking to expand their knowledge and abilities in a focused and interactive setting.

Basic Life Support - BLS (ages 18+)

The Town of New Tecumseth is pleased to partner with Get Outdoors to offer this BLS course. Designed to build participant confidence in performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills in a team dynamic. Participants will learn how communication and role setting will optimize performance to ensure to best results while providing (CPR). 

 Basic Life Support - BLS - Recertification (ages 18+)

The Town of New Tecumseth is pleased to partner with Get Outdoors to offer this BLS Recertification course. Designed to build participant confidence in performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills in a team dynamic. Participants will learn how communication and role setting will optimize performance to ensure to best results while providing (CPR).

Please note that a valid BLS certificate is required in order to renew your credentials. If you do not currently hold a valid certificate, we invite you to explore our full certification courses. 

 Emergency First Aid - EFA (ages 13+)

The Town of New Tecumseth is pleased to partner with Get Outdoors to offer this EFA course. A one-day in class course that offers lifesaving first aid skills that focus on the things you need to do before emergency services get to your location. Emergency wound care to stop life threatening injuries, Breathing emergencies and CPR being the main focus of this course.

 Standard First Aid with CPR C - SFA (ages 13+)

The Town of New Tecumseth is pleased to partner with Get Outdoors to offer this SFA course. Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR, injury prevention, CPR and AED.
