Spring Clean Up Event

Spring is here! The Town of New Tecumseth is inviting you to get outside, get active, and have fun while participating in our annual Spring Clean Up Event

With the support from PITCH-IN CANADA, our Spring Cleanup Event will be held from April 16th – April 30, 2023. This cleanup is in support of Earth Day. Earth day is an annual celebration that recognizes the successes of the environmental movement while also raising awareness of the need to protect Earths natural resources. This year, Earth Day is Saturday April 22, 2023.

Please contact us and let us know your plans. Arrangements can be made for a supply of garbage bags and gloves to be available to you. Supplies are available for pickup approximately a week before your event. We can also arrange to pick up the collected waste if it is left at a pre-arranged site.

Public Works Week 

Celebrate Public Works Week 2023 in the Town of New Tecumseth from May 21st to May 27th, 2023.  This years theme is Connecting the World Through Public Works which illustrates how public works connects us all through infrastructure and service by enhancing the quality of life for the communities we serve. Join us for tours of Water and Wastewater treatment plants or attend the Touch A Truck event at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre on Wednesday, May 24th 2023 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.

Welcome Week - Community/Job Fair 

The Town of New Tecumseth will be hosting in partnership with the County of Simcoe’s Local Immigration Partnership, the Ethnic Mosaic Alliance and Focus Employment Services, Welcome Week on June 13, 2023. The Town’s Welcome Week event this year will be a community/job fair taking place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre, 7300 Industrial Parkway, Alliston.

Welcome Week is an annual campaign and celebration to showcase the movement of communities striving to be more welcoming places for all, including immigrants. Simcoe County’s Welcome Week will be an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the people, places and values that ensure everyone feels welcome and belongs in their local community, no matter where they come from.

Several local employers will also be participating in the day, by having a job fair at the same time in the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre, that will be open to all residents.  The purpose of the job fair in conjunction with the Community Fair is to attract more people to work locally.

First Annual New Tecumseth Placemaking Week 

Placemaking Week focuses on making the spaces we live into places we love. It seeks to create a thriving, equitable, and sustainable world through the convergence of values, passion, and action around our public spaces.

The Town of New Tecumseth is posed for significant growth over the next several years and creating thriving, resilient communities will be important! Placemaking can help us engage with our fellow community members to develop meaningful relationships and see our public spaces in new and exciting ways.

Mayor's Annual Business Address

 

Mayor Norcross cordially invites you to the Mayor's Annual Business Address taking place on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Taste of Freedom (24 Mill Street), Tottenham. Come out for a great evening of networking and the premier of the Town's new promotional videos.

This business casual networking event will allow businesses in New Tecumseth to meet and network, along with getting to know the Town of New Tecumseth Council.

Appetizers and non-alcohol refreshments will be offered along with a cash bar.

Canada Day

The Town of New Tecumseth along with the Beeton, Tottenham Business Improvement Association (BTBIA) will be hosting Canada Day celebrations at the Tottenham Conservation Area on July 1st, 2023. Family friendly activities will take place from 3:30pm to dusk, wrapping up the celebrations with a spectacular fireworks display.
