The Town of New Tecumseth has a fitness centre in Alliston and Tottenham.

Corporate Fitness Membership Discount 

The Town of New Tecumseth offers a corporate discount when a minimum of 5 employees of an organization become fitness members at the same time. A 15% discount is applied to a 12 month term fitness pass. 

Organizations can sign up for corporate memberships at anytime during the year and the membership will be prorated based on a start date of September 1st.

 Fitness Centre Rules & Regulations 

Learn about our Fitness Centre Rules and Regulations.

  • Equipment must be wiped down/sanitized before and after each use.
  • Proper clean indoor footwear must always be worn.
  • An indoor track pass or drop in visit permits strict use of the track only.
  • Appropriate gym attire is required, t-shirt / full tank covering torso, shorts and indoor running shoes.
  • When using fitness equipment please ensure you have read and understand the directions and follow them appropriately.
  • Please do not drop weights and plates.
  • Please return all plates, dumbbells, and barbells to the dedicated location and ensure they are sanitized before and after use.
  • Please report any incidents, equipment breakdowns or issues to a fitness monitor or customer service associate.
  • Confrontational behavior, harassment or destruction of equipment will not be tolerated and may result in immediate dismissal without refund.
  • Cell phone, video and camera use is prohibited in the changeroom, shower and washroom areas. If taking a photo of yourself outside of these areas please ensure that you are the only subject being photographed. It is preferred that you refrain from taking photos while working out.
  • Please avoid resting, texting, or scrolling on your phone while on equipment to allow others to complete their work out in the time frame booked.

Personal Training 

Personal trainers are available to assist you in meeting your fitness goals. 

One hour sessions are available at the following rates:

*Individual sessions:

  • 3 one hour sessions - $211.00
  • 6 one hour sessions - $409.20
  • 12 one hour sessions - $787.40

Groups of 2-5 persons receive a 25% discount off the regular personal training session rate.

Fitness members receive a 25% discount off the regular personal training session rate.

Drop in fitness visits are available for persons over 14 years of age.  Youth 14-15 years of age require a youth orientation prior to attending. Please contact Client Services to schedule a youth orientation.

Fitness Passes

A 30 % non-resident fee is applicable on all memberships and passes. 

2 Week Fitness Pass

Whether you want to try the gym or keep fit while you’re home for the holidays, this short-term pass is the perfect option. This pass grants you full access to our fitness facilities for only $44.70 plus tax. 

Summer Fitness Pass 

Home for the summer or just want to try something new? This pass is your ticket to a healthier, stronger you. Get your Summer Fitness Pass today and make this season your fittest yet! Valid April 15-August 30 - for just $199.25 plus tax.

Payment plans, cancellation requests & holds/extensions on fitness passes
 Payment plans 
Fitness membership payment plans require a valid credit card or EFT information at time of registration and must remain valid/current to be accepted and processed with your membership registration.
Holds and Extensions 

A 6mth or 12mth fitness membership may be held/extended for a period of a minimum of 30 days up to 90 days. To qualify a member has to be out of the country or out of the area. Supporting documentation must be provided prior to the extension being granted. The first initial request is complimentary, additional requests will be subject to an administrative fee of $13.10. 

Membership Cards 

A membership card is issued with the purchase of a pass. You must scan this card at the front desk upon entering the recreation facility prior to attending your program or the fitness centre. Fitness membership card replacement requests will be subject to a $6.65 fee at the time a new card is issued.

Cancellation requests 

Fitness membership cancellation requests will be subject to a $13.10 cancellation fee.

Fitness Classes 

All of your favourite fitness classes across all recreation centres now use Book & Go — a system that lets you pre-register 2 to 5 days in advance for any single class. No more guessing if there’s space available!

You can attend a fitness class if you are 14 years of age or older. Fitness classes are free with a valid fitness membership, or you can pay a drop-in visit fee per class.

Cardio and Zumba 
Ignite your energy and get your heart pumping with high-tempo classes designed to improve endurance and burn calories. Whether you're dancing through a Zumba® routine or powering through a SPIN or STEP class, these sessions combine fun and fitness to keep you moving and motivated.
 Beginner STEP
If you have never taken a STEP class before or would like to learn the basics of STEP, this class is for you!  STEP is a cardiovascular workout with a toning component using various equipment including an adjustable step. Class is 30 minutes in length.
Fitness Fun 
This unique fitness class combines games and fitness into one challenging class. Class is held in the gymnasium in Tottenham and the 2nd floor studio at the Alliston Memorial Arena.
HIIT
This High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout combines short bursts of cardiovascular exercise with periods of rest or lower-intensity exercise. 
Kangoo
This is an intense cardio workout  wearing special boots that help protect your joints from higher impact exercise. The Boot rental is $5.85 per class. Please arrive 10 minutes early to class for boot rentals.
SPIN
Cycle your way to a healthier you. Go at your own pace or use the energy of the group.
STEP
STEP is a cardiovascular workout with a toning component using various equipment including an adjustable step. 
Zumba 
Party to this high energy Latin dance-based class and enjoy some great music along the way! 
Zumba Gold 
A lower-intensity version of the typical Zumba® class. Ideal for beginners, older adults and anyone who wants to take a lower intensity Zumba® class.
Low Impact Fitness 
Perfect for beginners, older adults, or anyone recovering from injury, our low impact classes focus on gentle movements that build strength, increase flexibility, and support joint health. Expect a welcoming environment where fitness meets sustainability and self-care. 
Fit for Life 
Designed to increase flexibility, joint stability, balance, coordination, agility and mobility. If you are a beginner, or have mobility issues, it is recommended that you begin by taking Gentle Fitness Plus +, and progress to Fit for Life.  
Gentle Fitness
This program is designed for people challenged by mobility or other health issues as a way to return to a more active lifestyle. Most of the exercises will be done sitting in a chair or using a chair for balance. 
Gentle Fitness Plus+
A workout designed as a progression from Gentle Fitness. Participants will be encouraged to elevate their fitness by moving from a chair, down to the floor.  
Strength Classes  

Enhance your physical fitness with structured workouts that focus on building strength and improving overall muscle tone. These classes feature a variety of exercises using resistance equipment, free weights, and bodyweight movements to support a healthier, more active lifestyle. Suitable for all experience levels, each session is designed to help you increase endurance, improve posture, and feel stronger in everyday life.

 Body Barre
Inspired by elements of Ballet, Yoga, and Pilates, Body Barre focuses on low-impact, high-intensity movements designed to strengthen your body in ways that few other workouts can.

Bootcamp

Get fit with this full body, muscle & cardio style boot camp! HIIT training, intervals, cardiovascular drills and more! 
Cardio Shape 
A fun weight and cardio class that can be modified for all fitness levels. 
Circuit Training 
This circuit class involves a combination of exercises, for a prescribed amount of time, that are modified for all fitness levels. The class integrates strength, endurance, coordination and cardio, targeting all muscle groups.  
Completely Fit 
This interval class that combines resistance training with cardiovascular intervals will provide you with a total body workout. 
Lunch Time Workout  
This express 45 minute class is perfect for a lunch hour workout during your busy day.
Muscle and Tone  
This muscle conditioning class develops body awareness to help improve technique, core strength and overall health. A variety of equipment is utilized including steps.
Stability Ball 
Using a stability ball, this program targets your core strength, balance and coordination. 
Total Body Blast  
This class will challenge you with a combination of resistance and cardiovascular exercises utilizing the benefits of Interval and Circuit Training. 
TRX
Using a combination of the TRX suspension system and bodyweight movements, this class will develop your core and overall strength .
Workout of the Day
Circuit? HITT? Cardio? Bootcamp? Every week will be a different class lead by one of our amazing fitness instructors! This class is perfect for someone wanting to try a variety of different workouts each week. Join the fun! 
Yoga, Mind and Wellness 

Restore balance in both body and mind with our integrated approach to holistic wellbeing. These sessions combine gentle yoga practices with mindfulness techniques and wellness education to help you feel grounded, energized, and at peace. Whether you're easing into movement, seeking stress relief, or looking to cultivate self-awareness, each class supports physical flexibility, mental clarity, and emotional resilience. It's more than just fitness—it’s your space to reset, recharge, and reconnect.

Gentle Yoga 
This class incorporates gentle yoga postures and movement sequences.  Accompanied by breath work, meditation and/or guided relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat. 
Hatha Yoga  
Class emphasis on simplicity, repetition  & ease of movement.  Focus is on finding alignment, developing strength &  achieving greater flexibility.  Breathing techniques and meditation will also be offered. Please bring a yoga mat. 
Kundalini Yoga 
Kundalini Dance Yoga consists of simple yoga techniques that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of level. A great cardio workout. Please bring a yoga mat.
Lunch Break Yoga 
This express 45 minute yoga class is perfect for a lunch time workout during your busy day. Please bring a yoga mat. 
Vinyasa Yoga  
A creative form of yoga, where poses are linked together with your breath, in a flowing sequence. Please bring a yoga mat.
Yin Mobility Yoga 
Yin Yoga is the practice of long held passive postures designed to target the joints, bones and connective tissue. Please bring a yoga mat. 
Yoga Flow 
This class will flow slowly through sun salutations and sequences of postures designed to build internal heat slowly and gently.  Meditation and Pranayama (breath work) techniques will also be included. Please bring a yoga mat.
