Parks, Trails, and Open Spaces Master Plan
The Town of New Tecumseth is developing a Parks, Trails and Open Space Masterplan. This document will guide future development of our Parks, Trail Systems and Open Space areas for the next 10-15 years as we continue grow.
Town staff provided a survey for all residents to tell us how they feel about our current parks, trails and open spaces. The survey was available online, as well as, physical copies were available through the local library branches, recreation centres and the 54+ Club, Seniors Centre.
The survey was hosted from Mid-May 2023 to August 14, 2023.
Our community members feedback is very important to us. Many engagement initiatives were held to ensure staff were able to meet in person and answer any questions. This included three (3) separate open houses held in each one of our town communities during the month of June. In addition, the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department set up a booth to highlight the masterplan at the Beeton Honey & Garden Festival, Tottenham Street Festival, Canada Day Celebration at the Tottenham Conservation Area, as well as, the Alliston Potato Festival.
Lastly, the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department has been busy meeting with key stakeholders in the community as well gaining additional feedback and any suggestions for future development strategies.
The Town is expecting to have the completed Parks, Trails and Open Space Masterplan document ready to provide to council before the end of the year.
If you would like to provide any additional feedback to the Town regarding the Parks, Trails and Open Space Master Plan, please feel free to contact us.
