Program Registration opens: Tuesday, May 6 at 7 AM
Choosing the Correct Swim Level |
Participating in the proper swim level is critical to your child's social and physical development. Please have your child participate in a swim test to determine their appropriate level. Swim tests are administered by a Lifeguard during any of the scheduled drop in swim times.
- A swim test consists of swimming continuously for 30 meters and treading water for one (1) minute.
|
Registration and Make Up Lessons |
- To ensure program consistency and completion of the necessary skills, registrations or transfers will not be permitted after two (2) classes have occurred.
- Mid-way through the session, parents will have an opportunity to speak with the instructor regarding their child's progress.
- Swimming lessons may be cancelled due to unforeseen challenges. A credit will be provided for a pool fouling or mechanical issue.
- Lessons will take place during a light rain, as long as there is not any thunder or lightning. Refunds are not issued for swim lessons cancelled due to inclement weather.
- The Town of New Tecumseth will do what we can to compensate for the loss of program time - reschedule where possible or provide a credit, if more than two (2) lessons are cancelled.
- Make-up classes &/or compensation will not be provided due to a participant being absent on the day of the class.
|
Swimming Attire |
- Bathing/swimming attire is defined as clothing that is clean and is used specifically for the purpose of swimming only.
- For persons wishing to cover up, we suggest a t-shirt and leggings over your swimsuit (clothing should allow the participant to move through the water safely)
- Children who are not toilet trained must wear appropriate swim diapers made for swimming pool use. Disposable diapers are not permitted in the water.
- For Adults with challenges with their bladder or bowels, you must wear a garment that restricts leakage around the waist and legs.
- As an additional safety measure, we suggest that long hair is tied back &/or wear a bathing cap.
