Compliance Audit

Pre-Election Logic and Accuracy Testing

Pre-election Logic and Accuracy (L&A) testing is a process in which election officials validate the behavior of voting equipment (tabulators and internet voting) by casting a known set of test ballots and confirming the expected results. 

The Town of New Tecumseth will be undertaking Pre-election Logic and Accuracy testing on Friday, September 30, 2020 starting at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers located at 10 Wellington Street E, Alliston. 

Candidates and the public are welcome to view the testing.

 Who Can Vote?

 Anyone can vote in a municipal election who, on the day of the election, is:
  • a resident of the municipality or an owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such owner or tenant;
  • a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years old; and
  • not legally prohibited from voting.

Who Can Be A Candidate?

  • Candidates must be a resident of the municipality or an owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such owner or tenant;
  • a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years old; and
  • not legally prohibited from voting; and not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office.
  • You will need 25 signatures on your nomination form and must pay a fee of $200 for mayor, $100 for deputy mayor, councillor or school board trustee.
