Check, update or add your information to the voters list for provincial, municipal and school board elections through the Elections Ontario Voter Registration website.

Confirm or change your school support designation

Homeowners and tenants should review their school support designations, and if needed, update them by June 1, 2026, to be accurately included on the Preliminary List of Electors ahead of the municipal and school board elections on October 26, 2026. You can do so through the MPAC School Support Designation website.


Wards
New Ward Boundaries

On June 16, 2025, Council approved Ward Boundary By-law 2025-052 establishing a new 7-ward boundary configuration for the Town of New Tecumseth, which will come into effect for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.

Offices to be Elected in 2026
On October 26, 2026, ​Town of New Tecumseth voters will elect the following offices:
  • Mayor
  • Deputy Mayor
  • Councillor Ward 1
  • Councillor Ward 2
  • Councillor Ward 3
  • Councillor Ward 4
  • Councillor Ward 5
  • Councillor Ward 6
  • Councillor Ward 7
  • Trustee, Simcoe County District School Board
  • Trustee, Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board
  • Trustee, Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud Mon Avenir
  • Trustee, Conseil scolaire Viamonde
Who Can Vote?
 Anyone can vote in a municipal election who, on the day of the election, is:
  • a resident of the municipality or an owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such owner or tenant;
  • a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years old; and
  • not legally prohibited from voting.
Who Can Be a Candidate?
 Eligible Candidates must:
  • be a resident of the municipality or an owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such owner or tenant
  • be a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years old
  • not be legally prohibited from voting
  • not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office
  • obtain 25 signatures on your nomination form and must pay a fee of $200 for mayor, $100 for deputy mayor, councillor or school board trustee.
