Discover local history, heritage, and hands‑on experiences as New Tecumseth proudly participates in Doors Open Ontario.
On Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 10AM – 4PM, the Museum on the Boyne and the Sir Frederick Banting Homestead & Heritage Park will welcome residents and visitors for a full day of exploration, demonstrations, and family‑friendly activities.
Enjoy heritage interpretation, crafts, demonstrations, and community service displays across two of the Town’s most significant cultural sites. Admission is free, and all ages are invited to take part in this province‑wide celebration of culture.
Museum on the Boyne, 250 Fletcher Crescent, AllistonÂ
Heritage demonstrations, hands‑on crafts, spinners and weavers, watercolour activities, historical interpretation inside the galleries, complimentary popcorn, and an information tent with program materials and family‑friendly takeaways.
Banting Homestead, 5116 Sir Frederick Banting Road, AllistonÂ
Outdoor demonstrations, community service displays with Fire Services and EMS onsite, ongoing craft activities inside the visitor centre, cotton candy throughout the day, and an information tent with program materials and family activities.
