NEW TECUMSETH, ON – The Town of New Tecumseth is proud to announce it will host Women in Arboriculture Ontario (WAO) TreeFest 2026, a unique, one-day event celebrating and supporting women in arboriculture.
WAO TreeFest brings together women-identifying arborists and climbers in a supportive and educational outdoor environment.
Taking place at the Tottenham Conservation Area on Saturday, June 20, the free event will feature tree climbing opportunities, live demonstrations, workshops, and networking sessions designed to build skills and confidence among participants.
“Hosting WAO TreeFest is an incredible opportunity to showcase our urban forest and welcome visitors to our community,” said Mayor Richard Norcross. “It strengthens our commitment to environmental stewardship while supporting women in a dynamic and growing industry.”
In addition to educational programming, the event will include a tree planting initiative to help restore areas impacted by Emerald Ash Borer and support natural regeneration in the conservation area.
WAO TreeFest also contributes to the local economy, attracting participants and volunteers who stay, explore, and support local businesses during the event weekend.
