Earlier today, Brian Saunderson, Member of Provincial Parliament for Simcoe–Grey, announced that the Ontario government will provide funding through the 2026–2027 Connecting Links program to resurface portions of Victoria, King, and Young streets, from the Alliston West Plaza easterly to Industrial Parkway. These roads serve as important transportation corridors through the community, supporting residents, local businesses, and the movement of goods.
“This investment is great news for New Tecumseth and our residents,” said Mayor Richard Norcross. “Improvements to Victoria, King, and Young will enhance safety, support local businesses, and help keep our community moving. We appreciate the province’s support in maintaining the infrastructure our residents rely on every day.”
“The people of Alliston deserve access to safe, reliable transportation infrastructure, and that’s what our government is delivering,” said MPP Brian Saunderson. “Through the Connecting Links program, we’re keeping communities moving across the province as we continue our work to protect Ontario.”
These improvements will help strengthen local connectivity, improve the day-to-day travel experience for residents, and support the continued vitality of Alliston’s downtown and surrounding neighbourhoods. The investment reflects the Town of New Tecumseth’s ongoing commitment to building safe, reliable infrastructure that meets the needs of its growing community.
