The Town of New Tecumseth will be completing maintenance work at the Tottenham Wastewater Treatment Plant beginning in July. The work is expected to continue through September.
As part of this project, one of the plant’s biosolids lagoons will be cleaned and cleared of built-up materials. This work is important to keep the wastewater system operating safely and efficiently.
What Residents Should Know
During the project, residents may notice occasional odours in the area around the treatment plant.
- This work is routine and necessary to maintain the wastewater system.
- Any odours will be temporary and only present while the work is being completed.
- The Town and contractor will take reasonable steps to reduce odour impacts whenever possible.
- This maintenance helps protect public health and the environment and ensures the system continues to operate effectively.
The Town appreciates the community’s patience and understanding while this important work is completed.
