The Town of New Tecumseth will be completing maintenance work on the Trans Canada Trail between 3rd Line and 4th Line to improve safety for trail users.
Temporary Trail Closure
To allow crews to safely complete the work, the trail section between 3rd Line and 4th Line will be temporarily closed during the following dates and times:
Dates: August 17 to August 20
Hours: 7 AM to 3:30 PM daily
Location: Trans Canada Trail between 3rd Line and 4th Line
What Work Is Being Done?
The project includes:
- Removing hazardous trees
- Clearing brush and overgrown vegetation
- Pruning trees along the trail
- Chipping branches and debris
- Completing general trail maintenance to improve safety and usability
Trail Access During Construction
Pre-notice signs will be posted at the trail entrance’s of 3rd line and 4th line as well as Richmond Street to let residents and trail users know about the temporary closure.

Signs will be posted along the trail one week before work begins to let residents and trail users know about the temporary closure.
