Town Launches New and Improved Community Improvement Plan Grants Program 

NEW TECUMSETH, ON – The Town of New Tecumseth is pleased to announce the launch of its new and improved Community Improvement Plan (CIP) grants program. 

The updated CIP program will contribute to local economic investment and assist in the recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic with an enhanced suite of grant funding programs for local business and property owners. 

“The Town is committed to making New Tecumseth an attractive place to do business, invest, visit, and spend.” said Mayor Rick Milne. “The updated CIP program provides an added incentive for business and property owners to invest in and further enhance our already outstanding community.” 

The grants available through the CIP program aim to strengthen the vitality and economic viability of the Town’s three historic downtowns, support the development of affordable housing options, attracting new economic growth to meet community needs, and fostering a sense of community pride.

 Eligible business and property owners can now access a wide range of grants through the updated CIP program, including the:

  • Façade, Building, and Property Improvement Grant;
  • Downtown Residential Improvement Grant;
  • Commercial At-grade Conversion Grant;
  • Public Art Grant;
  • Privately-Owned Public Spaces (POPS) Grant;
  • Rental Development Grant;
  • Catalytic Development Grant; and
  • Business Development Grant. 

A Heritage Grant will also become available following the approval of the Beeton Heritage District Conservation Plan, which is anticipated to occur later this year. 

Applications for the Public Art, POPS, Rental Development, Catalytic Development, and Business Development grants must be submitted to the Town no later May 1st for consideration in the 2022 funding cycle. 

Applications for all other grants will be accepted on an on-going basis throughout the year or until the program’s budget has been fully utilized. Business and property owners interested in accessing the program are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible to maximize their opportunity to access the program.
