Notice - Changes to New Tecumseth’s Fireworks Bylaw
The Town of New Tecumseth’s Fireworks Bylaw has been amended and includes the following changes that are in effect immediately:
Firework discharge is decreased to include only being permitted on Victoria Day, Canada Day and Diwali Day, in addition to one(1) day prior and after each holiday only. This is a reduction from the five days prior and after each holiday that had previously been permitted.
Flying Lanterns have been added to the prohibited list of non-approved fireworks.

Remember, you are not allowed to set off fireworks in a Town park, street, a parking lot or any private property that is not your own. If a fireworks concern occurs before 8 p.m., please contact the Town’s By-law Department at 705-435-3900 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and for after 4:30p.m., please call 705-435-3900 and follow the prompts. If an officer is available, they will respond to your call as soon as possible. Otherwise, we will return your call by the next business day.

Please be careful when settling off any fireworks over the holiday weekend, and always be aware of your surroundings and potential safety hazards.
