A Second Fire Station in Alliston
As New Tecumseth continues to grow, so does the demand for timely and effective emergency services. The Town currently operates three municipal fire stations—one each in Alliston, Beeton, and Tottenham.
Before selecting the location for the new fire station, the Town completed a thorough Site Suitability review to ensure it was the right fit. The study looked at important factors like servicing needs, traffic impact, and overall site capabilities. It found that the chosen location—close to the existing sports field and Public Works yard—not only met all the practical requirements but also made sense financially. This thoughtful planning helps ensure the new station will serve the community efficiently and responsibly.
Fire Station 4 will help reduce emergency response times, improve coverage in high-growth areas, and ensure that fire prevention and rescue services remain reliable and accessible for all residents. It’s a proactive step toward maintaining public safety as the Town evolves.
A Fire Station Designed for Safety, Service, and Growth
Fire Station 4 will be a modern, one-story facility spanning approximately 12,600 square feet, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of our growing community. The building will include three drive-through apparatus bays, firefighter dormitories, training and meeting rooms, administrative offices, a kitchen and dining area, and dedicated spaces for equipment maintenance and decontamination. Its layout and features are designed to support efficient operations, enhance firefighter safety, and ensure a quick response to emergencies. The station’s design also considers future growth and sustainability, making it a valuable long-term asset for New Tecumseth.

Construction Timeline and Community Impacts
Construction of Fire Station 4 began in the May of 2025 and is expected to be completed near the end of 2026 or early 2027. During this time, the Town is working to minimize disruptions to nearby residents and facility users. While some temporary impacts are anticipated—such as minor traffic delays, construction noise, and limited access to portions of the adjacent sports field—efforts will be made to keep the community informed and maintain safe access wherever possible. The Town appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this important project moves forward.
